Dr. Berger has more than 50 scientific publications including several invited talks and key notes, has organized several scientific workshops, is reviewer for many workshops and conferences as well as the EU commission and is a lecturer in the area of Agent Technologies and Mobile Computing at Dresden University of Technology and Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
4) Abstract
Ambient Intelligence (AmI) refers to the emerging computing paradigm where human users are empowered through interactions with ambient digital environments (such as our homes, workplaces, transportation infrastructures, etc). The environments are aware of the presence and context of the user, able to provide personalized services to their requirements, capable of anticipating their behavior and responding to their presence.
Agent and AI technologies play a key role for realizing AmI systems and applications by providing the fundamental information processing technology.
The presentation will set the background of Ambient Intelligence from the speaker's industrial and scientific perspective. Own practical examples and case studies in the industrial and consumer area including architectures, applied agent and AI technologies, applications and evaluation results as well as a roadmap will be presented. The presentation will conclude with remaining challenges for and an outlook on future development perspectives.
